Because you are here, you are aware – or have heard, that Social Media Management (SMM) is a hot new marketing tool for your business.  What SMM does is create a presence for your business on the popular social websites such as Twitter, Linkedin and Facebook.  These are the places people are spending their time and smart companies are using this as an opportunity for free adverting and customer connectivity.

Companies are creating pages in the social media world and connecting with current, potential and future clients.  The dilemma is that maintaining a presence on these kinds of sites require some attention to appear valid, vibrant and active.

This is where Social Media Managers come in.  It is our job to use your company’s brand and create consistent looks across multiple social platforms.  Then we monitor and maintain those sites with daily updates, responses and general housekeeping.

How is DCooperMedia different?

It is the mission of DCooperMedia to help the Arts community by helping promote businesses specifically related to the Arts – more specifically – Music.  I believe my knowledge base and skill sets makes me uniquely equipped to help market your music-related business.  I hold three degrees in music and am a tenured associate professor of music at a University of Wisconsin.  I am also very active on the web maintaining my two websites (see Portfolio tab).  I have published numerous articles in noted music journals, authored a dozen books and blog regularly on my site AllThingsTrumpet.  This is all in addition to my very active performing schedule.

So why would I want to be taking on another job in Social Media Management?

Again, I sincerely want to help make a difference in the Arts.  Working with, and helping businesses I believe in, reach larger audiences is yet another way of strengthening our artistic community.

Being a college teacher is great, but I believe my job as a SMM for the Music industry has the potential to make even more of an impact and reach more people in the realm I have dedicated my life to – Music.
